I sooooo hate grocery shopping. . . The mere thought of it causes me to spiral into a slight depression. This evening I stopped at the store after school and I left physically and emotionally drained, and my encounter with “Stephen” didn't help matters. First let me give you a small glimpse into the inefficiency of this process.

Think about it…
• Food is placed in the cart
• Food is taken from the cart and placed onto the conveyor belt
• From the belt the food is placed into a bag • The bag is then removed from the counter and placed back into the cart
• The bagged items are ONCE AGAIN removed from the cart and placed into the trunk of your car
• Upon arriving home, YOU AGAIN remove the bags from the trunk and carry the purchases into the house and unpack all of the items you just had to pack in the first place!

I ALWAYS pick the line that has the Laziest cashier - the individual who could care less about the task at hand. This evening, “Stephen” muttered something that resembled “Hello” - I think. He then proceeds to JAM the food into the corner of the counter at which point the expectation has become that I BAG THE GROCERIES. So, not only am I forced to participate in this inefficient process, and then I am REQUIRED TO BAG MY OWN STUFF, while "Stephen" chats it up with the young lady occupying the lottery ticket counter!! Hellooooooooooo it's called do your job!! I just spent $80 in your store - the least you can do, Stephen, is put my ice cream in a stinkin' bag.

Moose on the Sidewalk

Explanation of My Blog Title...

During what has become me and my husband's annual trip to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, I awoke one morning to view a MOOSE sauntering down the middle of the road! I rubbed my eyes once or twice to be sure I wasn't seeing things. . .

In my excitement, I banged wildly on the bathroom door to alert Kevin to the close encounter that was happening right outside our door.

Then, I grabbed the camera, flung open the door to our condo, and bounded down the stairs! My enthusiasm was abruptly curbed as I caught a LARGE brown creature out of the corner of my eye. I halted my sprint like pace just before I had a close encounter with a moose who was strolling down our sidewalk.

I bellowed to the rest of the household, whom I had abandoned, "Holy crap! There's a moose on our sidewalk!" Let me tell you , that is not a phrase that you utter everyday!!

These moose decided that the tender green plants that were adjacent to our condo would make a delicious breakfast.

In the Beginning

Wow, today I began my journey into the world of Blogging. As I am seated in my office, my mind drifts . . . I look around at the mango colored walls and I pause at a photograph taken at Grand Teton National Park. I love this picture. I believe it so esquisitely captures, for me, "The Beginning".

Genesis 1
The Beginning

3 And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light. 4 God saw that the light was good, and He separated the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light "day," and the darkness he called "night." And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.
