YouTube
I must say that I was not a user of YouTube prior to taking ENGL 420. However, after hearing many of my classmates raving about videos they each had seen - yes, I admit it… my curiosity got the best of me and I decided to explore YouTube.

My experience was nostalgia filled. . . I watched the opening to The Great Space Coaster (

As terrible as it is, I also watched as an unsuspecting gray squirrel cautiously approached a treat filled basket on someone’s porch… you need to watch to see what happens next . . . (

I was dumb-founded when I read that “in August 2006, The Wall Street Journal published an article revealing that YouTube was hosting about 6.1 million videos (requiring about 45
terabytes of storage space), and had about 500,000 user accounts. As of March 22, 2008, a YouTube search returns about 77.3 million videos and 2.89 million user channels.” According to Wikipedia, “YouTube consumes roughly 1 terabyte of bandwidth a second costing approximately $1 million a day. “
